"Drive fast ….!" she shouted as Henry was driving very slow.
"What?"Henry stopped the car aside. "What's happening to you Julia?"
"Those guys! I am so agitated." She fumed.
"What can I do?" he asked humbly "I am trying my best."
Julia wasn’t the type of person who was good at hiding things. She was open minded and straightforward. Her thoughts always danced upon her tongue. Out of frustration, she spoke "Dude, I respect your concerns, but it’s just that sometimes you act so secretive while sometime so nerdy; in fact you are just simply boring. Damn I wasted my day!"
Henry didn’t reply. He got out of the car and kicked the road hard. He then cried aloud in pain as he had hurt his leg.
Julia on the other hand didn’t move. She stayed in the car, alone, listening to the music, in the cool AC. After a while, when Henry didn’t come in, she realized her mistake. She saw him sitting in front of the car, on the lonely road. She unlocked the door, opened it and went out and sat beside him.
He noticed her coming out and suddenly his silence broke. He started sweating. He started shivering again, as he saw Julia coming near him. Julia herself got scared at first, but then she sat closer to him and she caught his quivering wrist. He was cold, terrorized, scared and lost in some agony.
"I am sorry for being rude dear," she whispered "I shouldn’t have done so, you are my only friend in this lonely place."
He didn’t speak, but he stopped shivering. Julia was relieved as she felt the wave stopping.
"Let us go for a ride," she said ecstatically "To some distant place, away from this crowded city, to some distant hill."
‘You want to go with me?" he said in a confused tone.
"Yes buddy, cheer up," she smiled "But I wanna drive this time, if you don’t mind."
"Sure," he replied and sat inside the car. Julia sat in the driver's seat and switched on the car and drove till the road ended. She drove over a hill and stopped at its top.
It was evening by then. The sun was about to set. Slowly, silently, dusk was spreading its magic all over as the sun was hiding behind the trees and the hills.
They both moved out of the car towards the peak and roamed around the cliff. Julia clicked some selfies and some photos with Henry. Her cyan top was just shining coldly in the mild darkness. They both chatted for a while and got to know each other.
"So tell me about yourself" she began.
"Well there is nothing much to say, I am a boring person," he said "…….I like painting and well I am good with electronic stuff."
"Cool, I will surely need you sometime in future, because I have no way with electronics," she laughed "but I am good with basketball…as you have seen," she bragged "also I am a…………." she stopped suddenly as she heard some rustling in the bushes.
"What was it?" she asked him "Didn't you hear something?"
"Yes, I did," he said "Let's go and check."
They both jumped over the bushes and strode forward to the edge of the cliff. There amidst the shadows, Julia saw a figure, resting upon the stones, over the muddy grass and boulders. She saw a black Royal Enfield bike parked at a distance from the edge and then she turned back towards the guy.
"Excuse me!" she shouted "Hello, Can you hear me?"
The boy didn’t reply. He was wearing a black leather jacket. He raised his hand high and signaled to her.
"Let's go," she uttered into Henry's ears.
"You go, I will wait here, I am scared of heights," he said.
"Pch…" she made weird faces and pushed him mildly "Wait here, I will be back…"
She trudged towards him. The winds started blowing faster. Moist and damp air was fleeting over her body, and she could smell the damp air and soil. She felt mesmerized. She walked faster towards him as the intensity of the winds grew. Then she sat behind him and kept her hands over his shoulders.
He writhed and shook his shoulder in an uneven manner and then moved his hand and wore his cap; his golden hair blew in the winds.
"What the……." Julia said and sat alongside him.
"Huh.." he laughed notoriously "Why can't you stop stalking me ……whoever you are!" He turned towards her and his greenish blue eyes flashed in front of her eyes.
"Seriously!" she banged her head on his shoulder.
She stood up and called Henry to join them, but he resisted and said that he would be waiting for her in the car. The sun was looking majestic. It's changing colors were just amazing. Subsequently, small and lustrous stars were rising up in the colorful sky. Julia stretched a bit and then sat beside the guy with greenish blue eyes, again.
"Let's enjoy this evening," she said to him while staring at the descending sun "and not fight."
"I don’t have any problem…." he said coldly.
"So why are you here?" she asked him.
"I don’t wanna fight," he said rudely "so just shut up and don’t speak, I’ve had enough of you today."
"Okay, as you wish Mr. No-one," she ended quietly and stared at the emblazoned heavens which turned darker and darker with the passage of time.
After the sun had set, she closed her eyes, and felt the winds turning cold. The mysterious guy didn’t utter a word, he too remained silent.
"I must leave," she said and opened her eyes after a while.
"Who stopped you?" he said monotonously.
She stared into his eyes "No-one…." she murmured.
The boy in the green shirt and black jacket got up, he waited for a second and then gave a hand to Julia. Julia grabbed his hand and got up too. He stared at the twinkling sky and so did she. She walked a bit forward, wanting to reach for the starry moonlight. She kept on moving forward unintentionally.
The guy shook his head in discontent and shouted "Wait!"
"What?" Julia turned, away from the light.
"Be careful," he ran towards her.
Julia got scared and hesitated and shivered and her leg slipped due to the viscous mud.
"Ahhhh…………………" she shouted aloud.
To be continued……
